On Your Marks, Set, Ride!!!

You’re invited to join this private fundraising event for our PS3 community and ride as a pack with fellow parents and teachers. If you’re a regular and fearless rider at Soul Cycle this is your opportunity to take a front row seat, turn your gears up a notch, and cycle to the beat while raising funds for PS3! If you’ve always wanted to find out what the Soul Cycle magic is all about then now is the time during this private PS3-only class. A back or middle row bike in this candle-lit room is the perfect introduction to the Soul experience.

Note, bikes are priced according to front row ($175), middle row ($125) and back row ($75) studio positioning.

Let’s tap it back for PS3!!

PS3 at the NYC Marathon

Since 2012, the PS3 Marathon Team has been running NYC and raising money for PS3. Every year, 10 fearless parents train for 20 weeks and take on the 26.2 mile race through the streets of New York.

This year the team welcomes a very special member! Isaac Mercado, our amazing safety agent, decided that keeping our kids safe wasn’t enough, so he signed up to run and fundraise for PS3!

Please show your support to the team by donating here: https://www.crowdrise.com/fundraise-and-volunteer/the-team/ps3ptanyc2017

Bill Gerstel Music Scholarship for 4th/5th graders

Bill Gerstel fingers with ringsA group of PS3 parents created a musical scholarship to honor the spirit of Bill Gerstel, a PS3 dad who spent many years serving within our school. The mission of the Bill Gerstel Music Scholarship is to provide the opportunity each summer for a musically gifted PS3 4th or 5th grader to attend the Bandwriting Collective Summer Program.

If your 4th or 5th grader is interested in this scholarship but has not received a questionnaire from Bruce in music class, please contact your class parent who will get you the form.

WITS Update for October 2017

wellnessCommunity Letter PS3

Dear PS3 Partners & Community:

Welcome back to a new school year! For those of you who are new to the school I am Chef Lauren. I will be supporting the school kitchen staff in preparing the alternative menu. I look forward to continue working with you all this year to teach the students healthy habits.

Our Wellness in the Schools (WITS) Coaches Jamel and Jordan will continue their efforts out in the recess yard to let kids play!

Our restaurant partner is Chef Michael Anthony with Untitled and will be visiting from time to time to work on projects at the school.

I look forward to meeting with your Food Grow Play Committee regularly to discuss ways in which we can support the wellness activities in your school. There is always room for more members if you are interested in joining!

Our first round of WITS Labs this year will be the week of September 25th. We will be making a recipe using kale! Parent volunteers are always welcome but please limit it to two per class. I look forward to another productive, collaborative year. Please reach out at any time.

All the best, Lauren Nilsen PS3 WITS Chef
